Hub Group Selected as Commercial Carrier Journal Innovator of the Month

Hub Group Trucking (Oakbrook, IL) was recently selected as a Commercial Carrier Journal (CCJ) Innovator of the Month for its implementation of REACH. Selected by CCJ editors, this award recognizes trucking operations that have demonstrated "true innovation in trucking management," one of which will be named Innovator of the Year and featured in a CCJ cover story.

Often hauling several loads in a shift on chassis trailers, a high level of attention is needed when operating under the unique conditions set by drayage companies. In addition to managing maintenance and repairs, Hub Group uses REACH for equipment inspections and driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs)

Ultimately, their value is reaped from increased driver productivity and reduced administrative handling time, saving 45 minutes per person per day in its intermodal repair processes and as much as 81% time saving in the event of a service repair.

"There's a lot of comfort on the safety side that we are eliminating the possibility of human error by forgetting to report something the driver was aware of," said Kevin Clarke, Hub Group's director of fleet design.
